Scented Toilet Paper

Today I woke up and began checking out all of my new surroundings it was strange to look out and see mountain ranges. I am used to living in areas with flat landscapes. Vlad and Vlad, the two guys from the Team who picked us up had given us a phone to use so that they could get in touch with us. They picked us up and showed us to the restaurant where we would be able to eat lunch and dinner daily. The first thing I learned about Romanian lunch is that it always includes a giant bowl of soup! It was a broth soup with chicken, vegetables, and fresh herbs. It was really good, and fresh! We also had something thing that resembled grilled cheese, and some potatoes. The food was good, but then again I was hungry too. We get free lunch and dinner there, but it’s not required so I’m sure after I get used to all of the grocery stores I won’t go as often anymore. After we left the lunch we took a taxi home and had some time to explore. A lot of the small shopping we do can be done at local corner stores that are in walking distance. We got some basics: drinks, cereal, milk, toilet paper, junk food, cups, spoons, forks, and a knife for protection. Everything we got was $7 after we split it! AND, the toilet paper was scented!! It smells like flowers when you open the package haha. I love a good deal! It’s like a dollar store around every corner!! They also sell fresh fruits and vegetables! I learned my address to tell taxi‘s the address to get home. We hooked up the TV’s and got a few channels in English. My favorites: Animal Planet, National Geographic, History Channel, HBO, TMC. Enough to get us by until we get internet on Friday and can watch shows online. I received some pictures of my puppy from Sarah (my friend in OH watching Hershey). After seeing so many stray dogs here, I was excited to get some pictures of Hershey, I miss him already. It took a while to fall asleep tonight, luckily we packed some ZzzQuil the NyQuil that just puts you to sleep. I’m hoping it works well because excitement plus a 7 hour time difference doesn’t create good sleeping habits!
